The Perfect Trio!...

Happy Thursday! I hope everyone has had a great week so far. We are one day closer to Friday, so don't worry, you'll make it! If you love color, especially bright bold color, the summer is the perfect season to wear it and flaunt it. Below I'm wearing my three favorite items, stripes, lace, and color! I call this the perfect trio because when you can combine three different dynamics of material or print, you've got a great outfit. I love how the bold orange just pops against the cream lace and how the horizontal stripes seem to bring the bold orange and cream lace together to a meeting place. Isn't it amazing how colors can put you in a better mood? I love how the green from the grass and the trees look in the background against the orange. It makes me feel like I'm apart of nature, kind of like I'm an orange in an orange tree in the woods some where.

If you plan on wearing bold color, I would recommend that if you have tan skin like mine, stick to the oranges, greens, or pinks. If you have fair to light skin, stick to the blues, pinks (not light pink, it'll wash out light skin), or reds. I love how blue, whether turquoise or aqua blue looks against light skin and how dark or neon pinks look against tan skin.

Color Code...

Hi! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! I also hope your Monday went by nice and quick. My Monday was full of sleepiness and work. Not so much fun, but at least it's over now. Summer in Texas has been ridiculously hot. The temperature today was 100 degrees! Isn't that crazy?! I can't stand wearing anything, but shorts, skirts and dresses in this Texas summer heat. The lighter the material, the better. I love the light weight material of these dusty blue shorts and blush top. It's super comfortable and does not make me feel stuffy, especially being out and about in the heat. I wanted to color block my outfit so I decided to wear the dusty blue shorts with the blush top and mustard yellow flats. The trick to color coding is pairing complementary colors. If you look at the last circle on the second row, you'll see the bluish/teal color is complementary to the reddish orange. Well, my outfit below is in the same color family as those two colors; therefore it makes for a perfect color block outfit! Next time you want to color block an outfit, follow the color wheel for some inspiration!

A classic piece goes a long way...

Hi everyone! Tomorrow is Friday so be excited and make it a Fabulous Friday!
I've been looking everywhere for a chambray shirt that was just the right color/fit and finally found it. This one is from American Eagle and I'm so in like with it right now. It just seems to go with every thing. It's definitely a classic piece that belongs in every girl's closet. I decided to pair my chambray shirt with two different outfits to show you how versatile this type of shirt can be. It can go from casual to something you can wear to the office.

First outfit::

Posh in five minutes!....

Hi! I hope everyone is having a great week so far. I know tomorrow is only Wednesday, but hey at least we're almost half way thru the work week. Speaking of work, I can honestly say I am always rushing out the door in the morning so when I can throw an outfit together within five minutes, I'm a  happy girl! I love having dresses that I can just throw on with some accessories and call it a day. Now the key to accomplishing this morning outfit madness is accessorizing; whether it's a great necklace, bracelets or earrings, these items can make it or break it. It can make your five minute look pulled together or just plain sloppy. If you're in need of some great pieces of jewelry, I recommend Poshlocket. They carry bracelets, necklaces, earrings, and rings. Each piece of jewelry has it's own unique design that would go great with an LBD or simple cardigan.

Here are some of my favorite pieces below. I hope you feel inspired to spice up that plain dress!

Chelsea Turquoise Necklace
This one is my favorite! It would definitely stand out with an LBD or a nude colored outfit without being too overwhelming, especially for the office.

Tate Crystal Cross on Black Necklace
I love when a piece of jewelry has a special design that makes you want to wear it with everything.

Isabelle Sun-Shaped Drop Earrings
The sun inspired spikes on these earrings give them an edge without being over the top.  Love it!
Heather Turquoise Drop Earrings
Turquoise and gold holds a special place in my heart. I feel like the combination of these two colors could not be anymore perfect. It just screams classic and classy!

Harlow Arrow Bangle

These bracelets would definitely make some great arm candy!

Here are some pictures of statement necklaces with solid colored dresses to inspire you!

Mellow Yellow

Hi! I hope everyone had a great weekend.
Now we all know that I love putting together different outfits for myself, but I find the challenge of helping another person put together an outfit to be exhilarating! There's something about the end product that makes it worthwhile. What you wear should speak to your personality so being able to help someone else style an outfit that speaks to their personality is a great feeling.

I asked my sister to volunteer to be one of my mannequins. I figured her tan surfer skin would look great in a yellow color so chose this top for her and paired it with white shorts.
Enjoy!
